A tensile test yields a tensile load, which is then calculated to an ultimate tensile strength. Ultimate Tensile Strength is the maximum tensile stress a material can sustain without fracture.
Tensile testing is our specialty. We can accommodate high volume, fast turn-around, or difficult material. SGS MSi has the experience to provide accurate on-time test results. Our 10,000 sq. ft. machine shop runs on two shifts, sustaining the capacity to accommodate the volume of testing required for the high volume we process through our lab. Material hardness levels up to 50 HRC can be sectioned on our band saws to verify the heat treat conditions and processes. Abrasive saws permit sectioning of smaller components that have higher surface hardness levels requiring mechanical testing.
